Dakia L. McMillian

Dakia McMillian took the helm as Chandler Hall’s Executive Director in February 2018. She has 20 years of experience in nursing and is both a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a Certified Assisted Living Administrator. From 2001 to 2008, she served as Director of Nursing at The Evergreens, a continuing care retirement community in Moorestown, New Jersey. In 2008, Dakia became vice president of Health Services there. In that position, she supervised health care delivery and quality improvement, and was responsible for regulatory compliance, recruitment, staff education and budgeting.
Dakia began her career as a staff nurse in 1998 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey. From 1999 to 2001, she was Unit Manager/Director of Nursing at The Fountains at Cedar Parke, a continuing care retirement community in Atco, New Jersey.
In 1998, Dakia received her diploma as a Registered Nurse from the Helene Fuld School of Nursing, and in 2005 she graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Currently, she is completing work for her master’s degree in nursing at Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey.
Nanci Harris joined Chandler Hall in 1998 as Executive Assistant to the CEO. She works closely with the Board of Directors and also supports other areas of Chandler Hall. Nanci has experience in areas of administrative services, customer service, training and event planning. She has served on the Board of Newtown Business Group and been a resident of Newtown for the past 30 years. Nanci enjoys spending time with her two granddaughters, baking/cooking, art and all things technology!

Senior Director of Hospice
Patty Bevlock oversees the Chandler Hall Hospice and Palliative Care Programs. Patty is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Administrator with over 30 years’ experience in end of life care. After graduating from Drexel University, where she obtained her RN, Patty worked in the acute care setting. Loving geriatrics, she soon moved into Long Term Care. When her aunt became sick, she was drawn to palliative care and hospice. This has become her passion for the past 30 years. Patty has worked with many hospice and palliative programs in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is a past board member for the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and a current member of the Hospice and Palliative Nurse’s Association. She feels privileged to work with Chandler Hall and the surrounding community to further improve access to care of people with serious illness and help them to navigate the often difficult health care system. In her spare time, Patty enjoys reading and getting lost on road trips with her husband. GPS is the last ditch savior to get them home.
Director of Lifelong Learning and Adult Day Center
Karen Freedman came to Chandler Hall 25 years ago as a teacher in the Toddler classroom with a background in Early Childhood Education. She quickly realized that teaching young children in an environment that also supports and cares for adults was a wonderful addition to everyone’s life. Moving to the Lifelong Learning team allowed Karen to continue her passion for Intergenerational programs and to lead a team of professional Program Specialists in addressing the emotional, spiritual, and recreational needs and interests of residents.
In her free time Karen enjoys reading, sewing and spending fun times with her six children and seven grandchildren- yes; Intergenerational experiences are her passion!
Senior Director of Independent Living and Culinary
Matthew Schwartz has grown up in the local The Newtown area. As the Senior Director of Independent Living and Culinary Services he oversees The Residences at Llenroc, the Lofts and Cottages, the Purchasing Department, and the Culinary Services Department, with 8 kitchens. Matt brings 30 years of experience in long term care settings, with 24 of those years working at Chandler Hall.
Senior Director of Community Support Services
Tony Pellitta worked for Chandler Hall for 7 years from 1988 to 1995 in the Culinary, Maintenance, and Transportation Departments. During this time Tony went to school at CHI Institute to study HVAC systems and receive his Universal Certification. He went on to do contracted work for the next five years servicing and installing HVACs along with plumbing and sprinkler work. In 2000 Tony returned to Chandler Hall as a Maintenance Technician to fulfill his passion of serving seniors.
